We need our Brothers and Sisters of AFSCME Local 2432 to come out in force wearing your AFSCME green this Thursday, September 22 @ 5:30 PM for the Budget Hearing - City Hall Commission Chambers.

City Management has advised the City Commission of their intent to outsource the Fleet Maintenance division of Public Works. AFSCME Local 2432 officers have been meeting with the Commissioners to explain how critical the Fleet office is to the City to stop this bad decision.

Fleet handles vehicles, heavy equipment, does preventative maintenance on vactor trucks, pumps, compressors, golf carts, portable generators, pressure cleaners and other is critical during Hollywood’s disaster recovery response.

The City is in the best financial position it’s been in in many years based on the recent budget presentation to the Commission. NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO ELIMINATE CRITICAL AFSCME JOBS! The Fleet division is an integral part of our collective team that keeps us all moving, and WE WILL NOT receive better service from a vendor – just ask any City resident who must live with Waste Pro garbage pick-up.

WE NEED OUR MEMBERS TO COME OUT AGAINST THE OUTSOURCING OF AFSCME JOBS ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 @ 5:30 PM – CITY HALL COMMISSION CHAMBERS. We must let the Commission know how we feel about this plan after we stood with the City through COVID and gave our all. SPREAD THE WORD AND WEAR YOUR AFSCME GREEN IN SOLIDARITY!
