Yes, we already voted to ratify the Collective Bargaining Agreements (passed!).
This particular vote is for the employees, current and retired, to approve the changes to the Pension Ordinance. A few years back the City’s Pension Provisions were moved from the City Charter to City Ordinance. That means we, the employees, vote on changes instead of the Commissioners. They vote too, but we go first.
Anyway…. you should have gotten a notice in the mail. And you should have gotten the same notice in your work email today. And we are broadcasting it again here.
And the Union supports these changes. We recommend you vote Yes.

Early Voting is being held in the City of Hollywood Employees’ Retirement Fund’s Pension Office (2600 Hollywood Boulevard, City Hall Annex Building, 2nd Floor, Room 20, Hollywood, FL 33020), starting today Tuesday, February 18 and continuing through Monday, February 24 (excluding Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
ELIGIBLE VOTERS: ALL FULLTIME EMPLOYEES* AND RETIREES PARTICIPATING IN THE CITY OF HOLLYWOOD EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT FUND
(*Employees’ Retirement Fund DROP participants can vote, but part-time employees and employees covered by the Police or Fire Retirement Plans cannot vote)
The City of Hollywood Employees’ Retirement Fund (“Plan”) is governed by the City of Hollywood’s Code of Ordinances. There are proposed changes to retirement benefits as covered by the Code of Ordinances. These changes are detailed in Proposed Ordinance PO-2014-01 which can be viewed in its entirety at the Pension Office. A two page summary of the changes is attached herewith.
